Palo Alto-raised and Thailand-based, Kal began his career at ILM in CG on Star Wars The Phantom Menace. 

A sudden allergic reaction to computers made him buy a one-way ticket to Italy, where over 15 years, he directed music videos, then commercials from Armani to Nivea. 

But then he thought, ‘why not learn Chinese?’ So in 2017 he moved to Beijing… but COVID pushed him happily to Thailand in 2020.

Kal has a pilot’s license but doesn’t fly, went to cooking school but doesn’t cook, went to acting school but doesn’t act, and got certified as a sommelier—and does indeed drink.
